Each one of us has our own destiny. And the road seems to be no end for some of us. Sometimes we feel like wanting to give up; it is so difficult to do good, to be righteous. How long can we really endure with? We feel so alone; no one understands us. Feel so insecure! Where can we gain strength to go on? How? Who?
Here is a way that leads us to find strength in order to press on in our journey. All is in the Word of God; the bible. At the end of the day heaven and earth will pass away, but the Word of God will remain. Thus, take all the opportunity we have to turn to the Word and see how we can be blessed through it.
If we look at the Gospel of Luke 8:22-25 a story about Jesus calms the storm, we see that the disciples were in the boat facing huge problem; a storm. They were so afraid thinking they were going to die. But then, they realized that Jesus was actually in the boat with them sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" Then, he got up and rebuked the wind and the raging water; the storm subsided, all was calm. The disciples asked one another, "Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him." This question, "Who is this?", leads us to see a few more stories from Luke 8:22-9:20. All the way down, the writer intentionally carried the idea of who Jesus really is.
- Who is this who commands nature? vv.22-25
- Who is this who cast out demons? vv.26-39
- Who is this who cures the incurable? vv.40-48
- Who is this who can raise the dead? vv.49-56
- Who is this who gives others authority over demons and sickness? 9:1-6
- Who is this who perplexes the rich and mighty? vv.7-9
- Who is this who multiplies food for the masses? vv.10-17
- WHO AM I? vv.18-28 Jesus is the Christ!
